The
sun shone and people turned out in their droves on 30th May to visit
Hill Farm, Haversham for the Milton Keynes Country Show. Over 3,500 people enjoyed the event, with the farm tractor & trailer rides, the milking demonstration and the main ring events all proving really popular. Visitors commented on how much there was for the whole family to enjoy whilst exhibitors including trade stands, craft stall holders and farmers' market stalls commented on how well organised the Show was.

In the main ring a display of birds of prey, ferrets and working dogs by Gamegoer Country Displays drew in the crowds. Several visitors set their dogs to work and play in the dog agility classes by Patchwork Training, plus the terrier racing also proved very popular. The Old Berkeley Beagles gave a lovely show of their Beagles and many youngsters enjoyed going into the ring to admire the Oakley Hunt hounds and get caught up in their infectious & boundless enthusiasm. Young Farmers from all over Buckinghamshire took part in over 160 competitions, and hundreds of visiting members of the public were able to admire their enormous talent whist browsing their competition entries. They also had the opportunity to watch the Young Farmers compete in 'on the day' competitions such as the intensely fought Tug-of-War, tent erecting, a hilarious 'boy dress girl' competition and a fitness test. |
